Bull Snake is a species (Pituophis catenifer) and also a subspecies (Pituophis catenifer sayi) of large non-venomous colubrid snake, widespread in the western half of the United States and northern Mexico.

Bull Snakes are one of my favorites to work with. They have a personality and come in a rainbow of colors. If you live in a part of the country were larger snakes have been banned i.e. Boas & Pythons, a Bull Snake would make an excellent alternative, especially since they can reach lengths of 8 feet.
